vblog: Cat Rants About the Recent MOGOP State Committee Meeting

October 29, 2009
By donttreadoncat

This is a video blog from last weekend’s trip to Columbia, Missouri for the Missouri Stat Republican Party’s State Committee meeting. I have become increasingly frusterated with the party’s growing diconnect with the grassroots, and have even gone so far as to sit down with the executive director, Lloyd Smith, and continue to be met by closed doors. Shame.

All my experiences over this same time period are almost identical. It’s taken awhile but the good folks at the Clay County Central Republican Committee are coming around to me and my pov, somewhat. I volunteered and worked mostly alone for over 20+ hours staffing the Clay County Republican campaign headquarters during the 2008 election, I’ve been to almost every Central Committee meeting since Dec. 2007, I’m now a Charter Member of the Clay County Pachyderms. I’m noticing some small victories and this months Central Committee meeting was the best one I’ve ever attended. The chairman pulled me aside at the beginning and asked me about Campaign for Liberty.

The best thing that has happened for us, liberty/freedom lovers, is that the Republicans got hammered by the Dems in 2008. Even though Obama/Axlerod are very similar to Cheney/Rove in their attacks on liberty/freedom/sovereignty, these people voted for Cheney and believed in him, they didn’t vote for Obama and are now recognizing the attacks on our liberties, freedoms and sovereignty and are looking for answers. It’s imperative that we have the answers for them and can move them towards the liberty/sovereignty frame of mind.

Gabe, that’s an awesome story about the power of persistence :)

We’re talking about planning a GOP “listening tour” on this side of the state – think clay county would want to jump in?
