By this point, we're all familiar with augmented reality, but Swedish mobile software firm The Astonishing Tribe is taking information overload to the next logical step: augmented identity. Mashing up face recognition technology, computer vision, cloud computing, and augmented reality with the complex digital lives many of us lead on the Internet, TAT has created an app that allows you to gather information on a person and their social networking life simply by pointing your camera phone at their face.
Dubbed Recognizr, the app essentially works like this: the user points the camera at a person across the room. Face recognition software creates a 3-D model of the person's mug and sends it across a server where it's matched with an identity in the database. A cloud server conducts the facial recognition since and sends back the subject's name as well as links to any social networking sites the person has provided access to.

The software even takes note of the position of the person's head within your field of view, popping up icon links to the subject's social sites around his or her head without obscuring the strikingly lovely features that caught your attention in the first place.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Your next trip to Kansas City International Airport may include body imaging scanners.
KMBC confirmed that the scanners will be coming to Kansas City.
The scanners allow security to see beneath your clothing in order to stop someone from smuggling weapons, explosives or drugs. They are being used in limited areas now but are becoming more common at airports worldwide.
However, the images are fairly revealing, and that is raising issues of privacy, KMBC's Martin Augustine reported.
Many passengers told KMBC that they're willing to risk the scanners if it helps to increase security.
"Anything you can do to make things safer is definitely the way to go," one passenger said.

"If it keeps everyone safe, keeps the terrorists off the planes, that's what we have to do," another passenger said.
Experts said body imaging scanners would have prevented a man from smuggling explosives inside his clothes on Christmas.

Dear Alex Jones,
My name is John Bush, I am the Executive Director of Texans for Accountable Government, a local political action committee whose mission is to further the cause of liberty through trans-partisan local activism. TAG, alongside the Austin Ladies of Liberty Alliance, organized the January 25th pro-gun rally which took place at APD headquarters. Many in the community are concerned with some of the recent assertions you have made on your program about the possibility of infiltration in the local movement. We would greatly appreciate some clarification on the matter as the prospect of infiltration here in Austin is a cause of grave concern.
On your February 16th, 2010 broadcast, you said the following about possible police and ADL (Anti-Defamation League) infiltration of the Austin pro-gun movement.
“We’ve also found out that CLEARLY, and I didn’t believe this at first, I had to see it, and I may cover it coming up in the next few days, clearly people working for the police and the ADL are involved, even in the Austin pro-gun movement, trying to destabilize it and things, and even go after me, and they even write articles about how great the ADL is and they are right about me being bad and staging these events, I mean, its getting real crazy.”
@ 3:25
As an individual who participates in local pro-gun activities and the executive director of one of the organizations that organized the rally, I feel it is my duty to better understand exactly who you are referring to when you say people from the Austin pro gun movement are “working for the police and the ADL.” What are your sources? Whom are you referring to?
Also, on your January, 27, 2010 broadcast, you inform your listeners that you were “sure” that there was Cointelpro at the event and that they were “poking you and getting in your face”.
“The whole time I was there I had like Cointelpro poking me and getting in my face, and I’m sure some of them were because later I found out about a meeting afterwards with some people we know are connected to some operations about how they want to get me and go after me, it’s a whole another subject, but it bordered on illegal but uh, luckily we had people on the inside that found out about that and called me about it”
@ 6:43
As I recall, you had a videographer with you most of the evening and there is also a great deal of footage of the event on YouTube. Surely if there was Cointelpro poking you and getting in your face you would remember them and they would be on video. We would greatly appreciate your time in pointing out to us exactly who or whom you are referring to when you say, “I had like Cointelpro poking me and getting in my face”.
You also mention a “meeting” with people wanting to “get me and go after me” that “bordered on illegal”. While this may be a private matter, it would do well for the local activist community to know who or whom is engaging in “borderline illegal” activity in attempts to “get” you and “go after” you.
If there was indeed police (APD presumably), ADL, or government infiltration, it may be possible to expose this corruption through open records requests and/or interviews with Chief Acevedo, ADL representatives, or other governmental agencies. We hope your sources for this information will assist us in exposing these potential threats to our local movement. You mentioned you might cover the police/ADL infiltration in the next few days. We look forward to hearing it! It is very important that we as a movement are familiar with Cointelpro and disruption tactics so that we may better deal with said threats in the future.
You have long been a trusted and reliable source of information for both the freedom movement and the public at large and we appreciate you for that. We know you understand the detrimental effect that infiltrators, disinfo agents, and provocateurs have on the health of freedom movements. We thank you again for all you have done and look forward to your assistance and response in this urgent matter.
Yours in Liberty,
John Bush

U.S. Law Enforcement Receive Counter-Terrorism Training in Israel
Posted: September 11, 2009
In early September, the Anti-Defamation League brought a group of fifteen U.S. law enforcement professionals to Israel to learn advanced counterterrorism strategies from their Israeli counterparts as part of the ADL National Counter-Terrorism Seminar (NCTS).
The group consisted of law enforcement from federal, state, and local agencies from around the country including, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE), Texas Department of Public Safety, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Atlanta Police Department.
Over the course of the week, participants met with and were briefed by members of the Israel National Police, Israel Security Agency, and Israel Defense Forces. They met with some of Israel's strongest leaders in the face of terrorism, such as Brigadier General Yeshayahu Horowitz and Brigadier General Nir Meriesh of the Israel Police, and Major General Dov Lutzky of the Israel Prisons Service. Participants were given behind the scenes tours and briefings as to how Israel secures its airports, malls, and holy sites. In addition to formal presentations and site visits, the program enabled participants to visit some of Israel's most important cultural, historical, and religious sites.
Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Keen of the Illinois State Police stated, "The information I learned on this trip will be shared when I return and will certainly help the Illinois State Police be better prepared if/when this type of threat occurs in Illinois." He continued, "I have attended numerous law enforcement training sessions in the last 24 years, and none compare to this." Major Debra Williams of the Atlanta Police Department described the trip as "unimaginable" and stated, "I recommend this training to all that hold an executive level in their field."

A must read. The ADL is training your local law enforcement on counter terror tactics – in ISRAEL.
Twice a year they fly out “top ranking US law enforcement”.
Missouri, TX, IL and GA went out last March. Looks like CO was in their fall trip.

Colorado State Patrol Chief Attends ADL Counterterrorism Training in Israel
Date: September 1, 2009
“This trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” says Colonel James Wolfinbarger, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol and former director of Colorado's Office of Preparedness, Security and Fire Safety.
He was speaking about ADL's National Counterterrorism Seminar (NCTS) in Israel. Twice a year, ADL brings top-ranking American law enforcement officials to Israel for an intense week of briefings from Israeli experts about counterterrorism tactics essential for Israel's survival.
ADL provided the opportunity for Colonel Wolfinbarger's group to meet with an array of high-level officials, including Israeli Brigadier Generals, police commanders and a mayor. They visited the locations of suicide attacks, security units and the holy sites of several religions. With ADL's help, they learned how Israelis maintain security-and started thinking about applying those techniques at home.
“The way information moves in Israel is much more fluid than it is here,” says Colonel Wolfinbarger. “They have a remarkable exchange of information between all levels of government and private industry. They also get information out very quickly about terrorist threats. That's something we can build on here.”
Colonel Wolfinbarger has nothing but praise for the seminar. “The coordination and planning that ADL completed in order to make the trip a success was superb,” he says. “The likelihood of [my] being able to travel across the world again, to have a behind-the-scenes look at the security administration in Israel, to see those things and meet those people, was an irreplaceable opportunity.”
Slowly, but surely, I'm getting this blog up and running just how I'd like it :) This will be the place to find everything Catherine. Excuse the layout mess while I get everything in order!
