Honesty is the best policy. Thanks for posting this email, Amanda, it was my wake up call, too.
The lunch in Phoenix that was listed as an expense with this email, I had offered to pay my share, Allison said “no” and that she had it. The plane ticket to get Tracey to AtL, which was listed in this email as an expense that we should all pay, was told to Tracy by Allison that it was a gift.
So I offer to pay my share for lunch, and Tracy is told she’s getting a personal gift and then the other girls are “charged” for it?
I know I said my other blog was my final statement, but I think its important when an organization is making false accusations against one of our most solid, active and successful activists (Brooke) that the mirror be held up to them as well.
In the end, the free market will provide ALL women with what they want.

It seems anyone can call themselves an activists. Amanda was invited to join LOLA, but after a while something didn’t seem right.

LOLA
So, I’ve been seeing a lot about LOLA lately and I thought I would add in my two cents about the whole thing. First, I will start by saying that I was never actually active in LOLA, and you will read why below – it was not for lack of trying. Second, I think the concept of LOLA is great – to attract women to the cause of liberty, because, in case you didn’t notice, there aren’t a whole lot of us. It’s really a shame that it was so poorly executed and/or managed. I’m sure someone will take issue with the fact that I am posting this, but those of you who know me will know that I really don’t care
First, let me share with you an excerpt from an email that sealed the deal with me and LOLA:
“As a board member and the third largest financial donor to LOLA, I am thrilled by the renewed commitment to LOLA manifested by so many of you the past few days. The correspondence of the
past week will help us move to a democratic and cooperative where we all have ownership of LOLA.
In the name of financial transparency, the first order of business should be raising money to pay back the funds our executive director has paid out of her own pocket to support the organization since its inception in July.
As many of us cut our teeth as grass roots activists, we are all responsible for the expenses incurred by LOLA. This should be a decentralized bottom up effort to be shared by all of us in the spirit of the Revolution.
There were 18 names on the last email chain this past week where we agreed that we must reform or disband. That comes out to 169.80$ per LOLA.
Please submit your share to either the Google check out on Iamlola.org or the NH address by February 28. If anyone is having difficulty raising such funds, please consult the archive of the LOLA list for the many emails I sent out re: fund raising or the Demers fund raising letter.”
